I bathe in this sunlight; my skin prickles when it’s noon and I feel the rays pass over me.
My little inhabitants crawl across my skin and I feel safe and loved when they are there. I am never truly alone: thousands of little ones – who made me, really – have given me this life and they will always be here. Little ones grow and leave me, but the original little ones will always have a special place, and make more little ones for me to love and take care of.
I am their home, shelter, store, palace, nursery, kitchen, hospital. I am their Mother Nature – the reason they exist so fully.
We cannot be without each other.
