Take me down to the woods
Down the path and to the cottage
Where a thousand tales unfold
And a million characters trod.
Bring me down to the valley
Where a red hood waltzes by,
Arm in arm with a wolf,
Hand in hand with an axe.
And sitting in the trees I see
A woman bite the fruit from a tree
And fall asleep with seven shadows
Clouding up her mind
But none compare to the rough endure
Of a prince lost as he scours the forest
For once encased deep in sleep,
Next door to a castle of books and beasts.
Take me down
To a land where such tragedies unfold.
