Take a moment
After you step out of the shower,
Droplets hanging onto your skin
Like little parasites on the underside
Of a shark,
To stare at your skin and marvel in how new it can look.

Covered in water,
You almost forget that somewhere
On your precious skin
You’ve got scars and marks and burns,
Little stories that tell that you’ve been alive
For as long as you have
And gotten back up every time you fell.

With droplets of water
Clinging to you
It’s almost like you’re fresh
Out of the
Water that created out

Take a minute to appreciate
How new your skin can feel
And how beautifully your muscles
Move against each other
If you so wish them to
And how you’ve survived this long
And can definitely survive longer.
